“What My Neighborhood Means to me”
Art Winners

At the Pittman Block Party earlier this spring, the City of Henderson was looking for inspiration for future projects through drawings, story-telling, poetry or a combination of visuals and words to describe what your Pittman neighborhood means to you and what makes your neighborhood special. We are proud to announce the finalists of the “What My Neighborhood Means to Me” art contest were: 18-year-old Krystal, 16-year-old Matthew, 11-year-old Bridgett, 10-year-old Carole Ann, 8-year-old Precious, 5-year-old Ashley, and 4-year-old Alexis. Krystal, a senior at Basic High School, was selected by Henderson Mayor James B. Gibson as the Best of Show winner and won a PlayStation.   The winners will have their art pieces on display in the new North Community Police Station and at City Hall and will be presented at City Council in the summer with a formal recognition of their efforts. Their artwork will be used to create art murals in the Eastside and Downtown Redevelopment Areas.
